POPPs.
The POPPS (Portable Off-Airport Passenger Processing Station) is your portal into the off-airport world: all the usual airport equipment in a sleek shell that’s sure to please guests—visually and functionally. Each unit comes equipped with a passport scanner, bag tag & boarding pass printers, a weighing scale, and a battery to keep you processing for 6-8 hours. The POPPS is platform agnostic and can run any common use or airline application via SITA Flex.
Off-Airport check-in should be all about the experience. That’s why the POPPS does not look like a regular kiosk. Designed to look both familiar—an homage to the bell boy cart—and futuristic at the same time, it does not look out of place no matter how heavily branded the environment is that it operates in. Although hotels & resorts can be considered the POPPS’ natural habitat, it also works as a counter in airports, be it for premium service in VIP terminals or as a mobile congestion relief touchpoint for small terminals.

PORTAL X SUTD
PORTAL’s design-focus goes beyond processing, and offers myriad ways to work in the airport context. These chairs were made in collaboration through SUTD and Jakarta-based architecture studio BYOLIVING using discarded materials form the Terminal 2 renovation at Changi Airport.
When Terminal 2 was renovated, tons of belts from check-in counters had to be thrown out. These chair prototypes give them a second lease of life as sturdy, luxurious woven fabrics. No matter the brief, whether it’s simple chairs or recyclable modular counters, PORTAL can design the right solution.
