BEAM (BAGGAGE ECOSYSTEM ANALYTICS MODULE) is our software platform designed to manage and track baggage across complex, multi-modal transport networks. It’s powered by SITA’s BagJourney APIs: the same backbone that enabled athlete equipment transfers at the 2026 Winter Olympics. Whether it’s moving bags smoothly to island resorts, into a hotel while travellers already attend meetings, or from hotels to the airport, BEAM makes complex service logistics easy for all stakeholders.
Tracking (Passive): Uses mobile scanners/phones to log the physical location of a bag at non-standard waypoints (docks, seaplanes), feeding chronological timestamps back to SITA’s core BagJourney cloud.
Reconciliation (Active): Cross-references live physical bag scans against airline flight manifests and hotel booking databases. If a handler attempts to load a bag onto the wrong van or seaplane, the application triggers a hard alarm to actively block the handoff.
Hospitality Integration: Binds airline passenger data (PNR) directly to hotel property management systems (PMS), providing field operators with exact routing instructions down to a guest's specific hotel room code.
PORTAL CHECKMATE.
CURRENTLY UNDER DEVELOPMENT. Checkmate (PORTAL CHECK) is an API-native passenger processing software suite. Engineered originally for POPPS hardware, it communicates directly with the SITA Flex cloud to access airline departure control systems. This approach completely decouples the passenger UI from monolithic roadmaps and slow common-use certification cycles. Operational deployment is split into three clean tiers: Lite (high-stability weighing and tagging), Pro (full off-airport check-in sessions), and Air (remote document capture on mobile devices & instant physical tag generation via QR).
The platform operates as an open framework featuring roadmap modules for biometric identity validation using the SITA Smart Path Hub and real-time payment processing. To bypass a potential lack of live airline system integration, Checkmate can utilise a hybrid custody loop where the terminal parses passenger barcodes locally and locks the luggage with physical, serialised tamper-evident QR seals during the face-to-face check. This creates a secure, verifiable transaction record that allows ground handling agents to defer official airline DCS validation and active IATA tag generation until the bags reach the airport edge, maintaining strict security compliance.
